Blue Bell Ice Cream Returns to Select Stores Aug. 31Harvill Industries
Last week we reported that Blue Bell Creameries had production up and running at the company’s Alabama location, and their delivery trucks were ready to get back on the roads. A link to the article can be found here. If you’ve been following Blue Bell Creameries recently, then you already know that the company recently had to halt production for several months and voluntarily recalled millions of gallons of ice cream due to an outbreak of listeria. Well, the good news for all the ice cream lovers out there is that Blue Bell announced on Monday that their products will be back in stores in select locations starting August 31st. Blue Bell has been hard at work over the course of the past few months in order to make their production facilities even better and safer than before. The company only wants to create safe products of the highest quality for the consumer. Like we reported in our previous article, the only production facility that is currently operational is in Sylacauga, AL, which Blue Bell was able to begin operating again after the Alabama Department of Public Health gave the company the go ahead. Still no word on when other production facilities will begin operations. Blue Bell plans to enter regions of 15 different states, rolling the entire distribution plan out in five phases. Regions covered in the first phase include parts of Alabama, since the ice cream is made there, and Austin, Houston and Brenham, Texas. I’m sure a bunch of us wish we were in that first distribution phase, but if we can just remain patient for a little while longer, we’ll have Blue Bell ice cream back on our spoons in no time.
