GEA Aseptomag® AXV

DESCRIPTION

Aseptomag® double-chamber valves AXV are used for the mixproof shut-off of incompatible products at pipe junctions in aseptic processing plants.

Welded stainless steel bellows are used to hermetically seal the product area from outside contamination. The three integrated steam barriers (ISB) can be operated independently from each other and enable the safe separation of both product lines, even when two of the four valve seats are lifted. The integrated function of the single-seat lifting capability permits fully automatic seat cleaning during production. Thanks to the three independent steam barriers, AXV valves enables one side maintenance while production on the other side and offer maximum process and product safety.

Main Components

Housing
Housings for double chamber valves AXV are available with two, three or four connection ports. The valves are produced with standard butt-weld connections by default. Mixed connection port sizes as well as various aseptic pipe connections are available upon request.

Internal Assemblies
The double chamber valve AXV includes two internal assemblies with two valve seats each. The larger seats (seat B) of the internal assemblies contain a shrunk valve seat seal made of Tefasep®. The smaller valve seats (seat A) are available with shrunk or screwed valve seat seal. In addition to the standard Tefasep® sealing, other material options such as PTFE are also available. The nominal diameter of the valve is determined by the larger valve seats (valve seat B).

Actuator
The double chamber valve AXV includes two identical actuators. The standard version of the pneumatic actuators is designed as spring-closing / air-opening (NC) and includes single seat lifting for both valve seats (seats A+B) as well as a full valve stroke (3 valve strokes in total).

Clamp
Due to its solid construction, the GEA clamp enables a pressure stable and safe connection of the main components. The special design with three segments allows a service-friendly handling of the component, even under tight space conditions.

Side valves
Each of the three sterile chambers includes a steam inlet and an outlet valve by default. The fail-safe position (NC or NO) of both side valves can be chosen independently from each other. The outlet can be equipped with integrated temperature probe which enables temperature measuring in the sterile chamber. In addition, the outlet can be configured with a divert valve to directly apply a sterile media also to the drain side of the valve.
